We started off early around 6am.  This was the one train I really didn't want to miss.  I read the ticket wrong and got to the train station 2 hours early.  I guess I was excited to get to Italy when I booked them.  I would have loved more time in the city but I guess things need to be left for another trips.

This train was another high speed one so all the pictures came out blurry.  I really wanted to see some of the southern countryside.  The hilltop towns, old villages, cliffs, mountains and small stone churches.   I have one problem with trains.  They put me to sleep.   I wanted so much to see the countryside but I kept dozing off.

Sitting with our Australian travel companions we watched the world go by while the girl entertained us with her presence.   We had plenty of laughs and an enjoyable day even if we were on the train the whole day.  We shared stories of our travels so far and where we planned to go.  We parted ways in Milan, they had planned to go to Venice then on to Florence later.

We arrived into Florence in the afternoon.  The city was hot and there was a lot of construction going on around the train station.  We soon found our place and relaxed till it got cooler.  We ended up staying in that night so we could enjoy a full night of rest before exploring the city.
